The Death Of An Icon

        Whitney Elizabeth Houston
                                            1963-2012

On The Evening of February 11, 2012 I was working at my not so amazing workplace closing up shop So I decide go to the back room to steal a swig of water when I hear my cell phone buzz buzz.. I saw on the front screen of my phone that my sister was calling so I hesitantly picked up because I did not want to get into trouble since I had slipped away without permission ….

So I picked up the phone and as soon as I did before I could even get a word in my sister says “Betty Don’t Get Excited” (They call me betty at home lol) and she utters the words I was not even expecting… ‘’Betty….. Whitney Houston Passed Away” As she said those words I just froze in my tracks I did not know what to say it felt like M.J all over again just so unexpected I mean as fans we see these high profile celebrities lives unravel n front of us… their ups and downs, struggles and Triumphs…

And when these celebrities with troubles pass away so suddenly without any reason n the back of judgmental but truthful minds we immediately suspect some type of drug overdose… which sucks but s almost always the truth… But the Incomparable, amazing
One of the most amazing vocals talents this world has ever heard or seen
Now back to the moment of hearing that one of my first musical idols had passed away
I said “You’re joking right” but deep inside I know my sister wouldn’t joke or lie to me about these things… I had to hang up to go back on the floor and when I did I took the sad luxury of informing my colleagues they were as shocked as me one of them googled

A mix anti- anxiety drugs like valium and Xanax and some Alcohol did (Allegedly) and now the world mourns another fallen star… we had young Amy Whinehouse a couple months ago… Allegedly Bobbie Kris slipped out of her mothers Funeral Service to get high (not a good sign)

… and the night of her passing it was her mentors Clive Davis Annual Grammy Party… I can’t even imagine the insanity and hectic ness that was going on that night… apparently the patrons of the Beverly Hilton want refunds because of the craziness that happened…
What’s sad for me is not only as an aspiring singer or fan I think about the younger generations and how they won’t ever get a chance to experience these remarkable and amazing talents… That basically bred some of the talents they listen to today like Adele, Jessie J, Alicia Keys, J Hud and many others and as it is the music industry doesn’t really have that many artists stand out just a few.. cause now the industry is about quantity not quality…

Whitney Houston is an icon and will forever be in hearts and we will forever blast her music in our car speakers or at parties whether looking to dance with someone who loves us or running to someone because we know they are our one and only true love…. Whitney Elizabeth Houston Music and Dynamic voice will always live on and I know you’ve heard this before but We will always love and adore her…
I’ll Put up one of her Videos her iconic Song (Sadly no one remembers Dolly Partons' Version)….
So what do you stereo heads think are you guys as still shocked as I am of Whitney’s
Death or was it inevitable??? I want to know your thoughts…..
